Short answer: for six out of ten listings the problem is not the price, the pattern or the wording — it is that nobody has looked at it yet. On this marketplace, 60.4% of active private-seller listings have never been viewed once, and the median private listing has exactly zero views.

This guide works through the actual reasons in the order the data supports, using figures measured on 2 September 2026 across the 9,205 active listings that belong to private sellers rather than bulk dealer accounts.

Quick answer

  • 60.4% of private listings have zero views. Median views: 0.
  • Price is almost never the missing piece. Only 7 of 9,205 private listings have no price set.
  • 78.2% declare a contract commitment, which stops a handover even when a buyer is ready.
  • Only 0.13% of private listings have ever received an offer, so nobody — including us — can model what makes a number sell.

Has anyone actually seen your listing?

This is the first question, and for most sellers it is also the last one that matters. Here is how attention is distributed across active private-seller listings.

ViewsListingsShare
05,56060.4%
1–92,31225.1%
10–491,10312.0%
50–199580.6%
200–9991711.9%
1,000+10.01%

Read that top row again. The median private listing has zero views. If your number has not sold, the overwhelmingly likely reason is not that buyers looked and declined — it is that no buyer has arrived at the page at all.

That reframes the whole problem. Rewriting a description, shaving the price by 10% or waiting for a better season does nothing for a listing nobody reaches. The work that pays is the work that gets the listing in front of someone: an accurate prefix and pattern so it appears in the right filters, a price so it survives price-range filtering at all, and a reason for the listing to surface above the roughly 40,000 others.

Attention is concentrated in a very small tail. Most listings sit at zero.

Is it the price?

Almost certainly not in the way you think. A common piece of selling advice is "publish a price". It is sound advice, and private sellers already follow it: only 7 of 9,205 active private listings have no price set — 0.1%.

The "no price" problem is real, but it belongs almost entirely to bulk dealer inventory: 9,451 listings on the house account carry no price. If you are an individual seller, this lever is already pulled.

That does not mean your number is priced correctly — only that the absence of a price is not your bottleneck. For a benchmark rather than a guess, the free number calculator returns a range from carrier, prefix and digit pattern, and our guide to reading that output explains what it can and cannot tell you.

Does promoting a listing help?

Here the honest answer is: the numbers look encouraging and are far too thin to prove anything.

TierListingsMedian viewsShare with 0 views
Normal9,189061%
Featured93220%
Spotlight7630%

Why we will not turn this into a claim. Nine and seven listings are not a sample. Sellers also choose which listings to promote, and they tend to promote numbers they already rate — so promoted listings would be expected to draw more attention even if promotion did nothing. This table describes what is on the marketplace today. It does not establish that promotion causes views, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

There is a counterweight in the same data worth knowing before you spend anything: the most-viewed private listing on the marketplace, at 1,465 views, is on the normal tier. So are the second, third and fourth. Attention is not reserved for paid placements.

Is a contract blocking the sale?

A listing can be seen, priced and wanted, and still not complete — because the operator will not move it. 78.2% of active private-seller listings declare a contract commitment: a 12-month or 24-month term that has not finished. A further 19.0% leave the field blank and 2.8% state no commitment.

e& publishes that "Transfer of ownership is not allowed during the contract period." du requires that "all financial obligations must be paid in full" and that the line is not suspended. A buyer who discovers either at the counter walks away, and usually does not come back.

If your listing does not state the contract position, a cautious buyer has to assume the worst. Stating an end date costs nothing and removes the doubt. Our guide to selling a number that is still under contract sets out what each operator publishes.

What the numbers cannot tell you

We can measure attention. We cannot yet measure what converts it.

Across those 9,205 active private listings, 12 have ever received an offer — 0.13%. Site-wide, 8 listings are marked sold. Those counts are far too small to support any statement about which patterns sell fastest, what discount closes a deal, or how long a number takes to move. Anyone publishing such figures for this market is estimating, and we would rather say so than join in.

What follows from that is a limit on advice, not an absence of it: the recommendations below are about being findable and being transferable, both of which are observable. Nothing here claims to predict a sale.

What to change, in order

  1. Check your view count first. It is on your listing in the seller dashboard. If it is zero or near it, stop editing the description — the problem is upstream of anything a visitor reads.
  2. Make sure the listing is filterable. Correct carrier, correct prefix, a real price. A listing with a price of zero is invisible to anyone browsing within a budget.
  3. State the contract position. An end date, or "no commitment". Silence reads as a problem to the one buyer in a hundred who is actually ready.
  4. Benchmark the ask before you cut it. Reducing a price nobody has seen changes nothing. Establish the range first with the calculator.
  5. Only then consider paid placement. The measured effect is unproven, the cost is known, and the top of the view distribution is occupied by unpromoted listings.

For a structured pass over the listing itself, the listing score framework works through the fields one by one, and timing your sale covers the seasonal pattern.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my UAE mobile number listing have no views?

Because most listings do not. 60.4% of active private-seller listings on this marketplace have zero views and the median is zero. A new listing joins roughly 40,000 others, so being found depends on matching the filters buyers actually use — carrier, prefix, price range and pattern — rather than on the wording of the description.

Should I lower my price if nobody is buying?

Not before you know whether anyone has seen it. Cutting the price of a listing with zero views changes nothing except what you will earn if it eventually sells. Check the view count first; if it is zero, the problem is visibility, not the number on the page.

How long does it take to sell a UAE mobile number?

We do not publish a figure, because we cannot support one. Only 8 listings site-wide are marked sold and 12 private listings have ever received an offer. Any published "average time to sell" for this market is an estimate rather than a measurement.

Does paying to feature my listing get it more views?

Featured listings do show a higher median view count — 322 against 0 for normal listings — but there are only nine of them, and sellers choose which numbers to promote. That is not enough to establish that promotion causes the difference. Note also that the four most-viewed private listings are all on the normal tier.

Does a contract commitment stop my number from selling?

It does not stop the listing, it stops the handover. e& states that "transfer of ownership is not allowed during the contract period", so a buyer who agrees a price still cannot complete until the term is settled. 78.2% of active private listings declare a commitment, so stating your end date openly separates you from the ones that do not.

Is my number simply not desirable enough?

Possibly, but that is the last hypothesis to reach for, not the first. With a median of zero views the far more likely explanation is that the question has never been put to a buyer. Establish visibility, then judge desirability by the response.

Should I delete and relist my number to make it look new?

Deleting loses the listing's view history and any offers attached to it. If the goal is to appear recent, the refresh option exists for that and keeps the record intact. Deleting and re-creating is the more destructive route to the same place.

What does zero views actually mean — has nobody searched for my number?

It means no one has opened the listing page. Buyers filter by carrier, prefix, price range and pattern before they click anything, so a listing can sit inside plenty of searches without ever being opened. That is why the filterable fields matter more than the free text.

Conclusion

The most common reason a UAE mobile number has not sold is the least dramatic one: nobody has seen it. Six in ten private listings have never been opened, and the median has never been opened at all. Before rewriting anything or cutting a price, find out which side of that line your listing is on — the fix is completely different depending on the answer.

And be sceptical of anyone who tells you precisely how long your number will take to sell. On the evidence available, that number does not exist yet.
