What changed
For a period, MobileNumber.ae presented DOMC alongside Etisalat, du and Virgin Mobile: it appeared in the carrier filter, in the listing form, in the price calculator and in guides like the earlier version of this page. That is no longer the case. The carrier was removed from every selector on the site, its category pages were retired, and the URLs that used to serve them — /domc, /domc-numbers and /057-numbers — now redirect permanently (HTTP 301) to the page you are reading. Nothing is hidden: those addresses still resolve, they simply land on the explanation instead of on a category with nothing in it.
We are keeping this page rather than deleting it. A guide that ranked for “DOMC 057” and simply vanished would leave readers with a broken link and no explanation. A page that says plainly what happened is more useful than a 404.
DOMC appeared in older articles, comparison tables and carrier lists across this site. Those references have been removed. If you find one we missed, it is an oversight rather than a live offering — there is no way to list, filter or buy a 057 number here.

Those six prefixes are the full set you will encounter in our listings. 057 and 053 are routinely mentioned in the same breath, as though they were two versions of one story. They are not, and the difference matters the moment somebody offers you a number — the next section sets it out.
057 and 053 are not the same story
Search for UAE mobile prefixes and you will find 053 and 057 listed side by side, usually under a heading like “discontinued codes”. Only one of those two descriptions is accurate, and the confusion is not harmless.
057 existed. It is the prefix under which DOMC appeared on this marketplace, and it is the reason this page exists at all. It is out of circulation now, and we can be precise about what that means here: there are zero 057 listings on MobileNumber.ae in any state — not active, not sold, not hidden.
053 is a different case. It never circulated as a UAE consumer mobile prefix. It is not a retired code with old holders somewhere; it is a code that guides keep copying from one another. That difference is visible in how this site treats the two addresses: /057-numbers redirects here, to an explanation of something that did once exist, while /053-numbers returns HTTP 410 — genuinely gone, with nothing to redirect to.
The practical consequence is simple. If a seller tells you a 057 number is unusual because the operator behind it is no longer offered, they are at least describing something real, and the line is worth verifying with the operator. If a seller offers you a 053 number, they are describing a code that was never issued to consumers in the first place.

Number portability has applied in the UAE since 2013. A number keeps its digits when it moves between operators, so the prefix tells you which operator the block was originally assigned to — not who bills the line today. A 050 number can sit on du’s network and an 058 number on Etisalat’s. Only an operator-side check answers that question, which is why every instruction on this page points you at the counter rather than at the first three digits.
If you hold a 057 number
Nothing on this site changes what is on your SIM. What we can tell you is what we can no longer do for you:
- You cannot list it here. The carrier selector in the listing form offers Etisalat, du and Virgin Mobile only, so a 057 number has no valid carrier to attach to.
- You will not find comparable sales data. With the category retired, there is no price history on this marketplace to value a 057 number against.
- Questions about the line itself belong with the operator and the regulator. The UAE Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) is the authority for numbering and portability questions; your SIM's operator handles ownership records.
If a seller offers you a 057 number, the safest step is the same one we recommend for every transaction: confirm at an authorised carrier store, with both Emirates IDs present, that the line exists and is registered to the seller — before any money changes hands. If someone offers you a 057 number today
Nothing above says a 057 line cannot exist somewhere. It says we cannot list it, price it or broker it. If someone approaches you with one anyway — on a classifieds site, in a WhatsApp group, through a friend of a friend — these are the checks that apply, and they are the same ones we would give you for any number on any prefix.
- Ask which operator bills the line, not which digits it starts with. The prefix is an allocation. The answer you actually need is the name on the invoice, and a genuine seller can give it without hesitating.
- Insist on the operator’s own counter. An authorised store can confirm in minutes that the line exists and who it is registered to. A screenshot, a photo of a SIM and a scan of an ID prove nothing at all.
- Both Emirates IDs, both people present. Ownership transfer in the UAE is an identified process. If the arrangement is that you hand over cash and the seller hands over a SIM, no transfer has taken place: you are holding a SIM for a line registered to somebody else.
- Check the state of the line before you argue about the price. Prepaid or postpaid, contract still running or not, outstanding balance or none — all of it travels with the number.
- Take numbering questions to the regulator. The TDRA is the authority on which codes are in use and on how portability works. Nobody selling you a number is.
For a 056 or 058 number you can benchmark an asking price against what comparable patterns are listed at here. For 057 there is no comparison set at all — no active listings, no sold history, no price memory on this marketplace or anywhere we could point you to. A number you cannot benchmark is a number you are pricing on the seller’s word alone, and that is a materially worse position to negotiate from.
What to look at instead
If you were drawn to 057 because it was described as rare and cheap, the same logic still applies inside the prefixes we cover — but not on the prefix an earlier version of this page recommended. The volume ranges are 054 and 056: between them they hold more than 26,000 active listings, and that is where the affordable end of this market actually sits. 058 is the opposite — 340 active listings, and the single most expensive number on the marketplace. Both routes give you a line on a network you can verify, transfer and resell; they are simply priced very differently, and the next section shows by how much.

Which prefix is actually the cheap entry point
An earlier version of this page told you that 058 was the most affordable way into a strong pattern, with 056 close behind. Our own listing data does not support the first half of that, so here is the corrected picture and the working behind it.
Two things have to be said before the numbers. First, one seller — the MobileNumber.ae house account — holds the large majority of listings on this site, so any single average that mixes house inventory with private sellers describes the house’s pricing rather than the market’s. Every figure below is split into the two. Second, these are asking prices on active listings, not closed sales: they show what sellers believe a pattern is worth, which is the number you will be negotiating against.
The pattern measured is the one buyers ask for most often — four identical digits in a row, anywhere in the seven subscriber digits.

Read down the private-seller column and 058 is one of the more expensive prefixes for the same pattern, not the cheapest. The genuinely cheap entry points are 054 and 056, where private sellers hold 590 and 420 quad-repeat listings respectively and the median ask sits at AED 1,000. The reason is supply: 054 carries 15,641 active listings and 056 carries 11,092, against 340 on 058. Deep ranges have competition inside them; thin ranges do not.
Why the earlier claim was wrong is worth naming, because the same reasoning turns up in a lot of prefix guides. It assumed that a newer, less established range must be a cheaper one. On 058 the opposite happened: the range is small, it carries the highest-priced listing on the entire marketplace, and no volume of ordinary listings has arrived to dilute what sellers ask for the good patterns. If your priority is the pattern rather than the prefix, start on 054 or 056 and compare outwards from there.
